Listening Practice: Walk Around the Night Market in Taiwan with Ken
今日の動画は「かんたんな日本語」という名前です。けんさんはたいわんでよいちに行って、やさしい日本語を話しました。だから、私はちょっと分かりました。ぜんぶの会話が分からなかったけど、たいはん分かりました。けんさんは、色々な会話を話しました。例えば、色々な食べ物や服を売ります。けんさんもかきごおりをおすすめました。
This video was a bit easier to understand since Ken spoke a bit slower, hence the "Easy Japanese" title of the video. I was able to understand the majority of the conversation, but when listening without looking at the Japanese subtitles, I would sometimes not recognize the "Katakana" words or would be confused when I recognized a word but it had a different Kanji spelling, so a different meaning within the context. I watched the video twice; once with no subtitles at all, and the second with both the Japanese and English subtitles. The first time, I had to just listen and not watch at all since the video had Japanese subtitles edited into it, so it wasn't as easy to understand the full context because I couldn't see what Ken was referencing in his surroundings. But while watching it a second time with both English and Japanese subtitles, I was able to understand more and recognized what words I confused when I listened to it the first time. Overall, I think that this is a good resource to practice natural input.
